Pals Blog Hop: Orange Theory

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is Orange Theory. We hope to inspire you with our creations using the color orange today! It really was difficult to narrow it down, but I had lots of fun prototyping and I decided on a series of notecards I can use for any occasion or to pen a note to friends. I need to up my snail mail game again. Got busy with life and Mama Grand's Daycare:) Here's an orange theory photo from our recent extended family outing to the local fall festival: Since blue and orange are complementary colors I thought I'd start with a pair of cards in these hues. You see them in the grand's shirt, and I was able to find just the right matching ones in the Stampin' Up!® color stable: Azure Afternoon, Blueberry Bushel, Pumpkin Pie, & Peach Pie...hm

I had lots of fun trying to figure out which creature stamp I wanted to use for designing this month's project. During my search I found an almost overlooked image in the Submarine Life set. Since it's getting to be fall where I live I've been noodling some autumn splendor ideas as I watch the birds overhead getting out of town before the snow flies. Lots of fun little ideas/reminders here for you in this one layer card along with mixing and matching some sets I had on my desk. Notice the sentiment comes from Adventurous Sky; the "trees" are made using the leaf skeleton stamp in the Autumn Leaves set; and the "leaves" on the trees are actually made by turning over the little b

How's Life Friends? I started a new color series this week based on some inspiration from a linen catalog. The colors I combined were Pecan Pie, Silver Slate, Crumb Cake, Basic White and Basic Grey. My mom wanted some more sympathy cards and I thought this was a calm color palette to use. I used the Changing Leaves dies, the Petal Park Builder Punch, and the sentiment and label from Thoughtful Expressions for this design. Perhaps you've taken a flight to vacation? or maybe, like us, you stayed put and enjoyed your own home surroundings?! Yellowstone is in my back yard and it was mostly a smoke free season in our neck of the woods. The firefighters are still very busy though, and planes figure prominently in that battle. Summer Blues: Changing Leaves Online Exclusive Bundle

How's Life Friends? Here's another pair in my blue and white series to end out the summer:) I've used the beautiful Online Exclusive Bundle Changing Leaves. Autumn is my favorite season and this set is just stunning and has such a nice variety of image styles that still look great together! I knew it would make a terrific blue and white design too! The Dotted Circles 3D embossing folder is one of my favorites from the new Annual Catalog and I'm finding so many ways to bring its texture to my creations!
